Coby Bryant Update
Ben Johnson is keeping it vague on Coby Bryant. He said the safety is progressing through rehab but didn’t have an exact timeline for returning.
“From what I understand, he's right on track,” Johnson said. “He's working his tail off…Over the next month, that'll go a long way to see whether we can get him back this year or not.”
According to Johnson, Bryant will begin running on land in the "near future," but practicing change of direction will reveal more about his trajectory.
“We're still a little ways away from him doing the change of direction stuff,” Johnson said. “That's really going to be the stress test with him is being able to really push down on that knee and change direction at a high velocity. So that's still a little ways away."
Attendance
Cornerbacks Malik Muhammad II (toe) and Tyrique Stevenson Sr. (hamstring) were both absent from practice Wednesday. Linebackers T.J. Edwards (hamstring) and Jack Sanborn (concussion) returned.
Loveland on Kmet
Coleston Loveland is feeling the loss of fellow tight-end Cole Kmet, who will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
“He’s a strong guy and he’s going to get through it for sure,” Loveland said. “I love that guy. He’s done so much for me and taught me so much and someone I look up to.
“You can’t replace a guy like that, but we got other guys that can step up and we all just need to do a little bit more."
